John Dorsey Named to Court-Appointed Receiver Panel

Congratulations to firm attorney John Dorsey who was recently named to the R.I. Superior Court panel of Court-appointed receivers. John joined the firm in 2010 and has gained a breadth of experience in matters involving insolvency, turn-around and repositioning of distressed business operations and resurrecting distressed real estate projects. 

John has developed a breadth of experience in operating businesses in receivership pending sales including healthcare facilities, laboratories, golf-clubs, restaurants, computer companies, gas stations and other companies. He was part of the Ferrucci Russo team that restructured and operated The Westerly Hospital receivership, which received national recognition as the Turnaround Deal-of-the-Year by the Merger & Acquisition Advisor and was called “a real alternative to federal bankruptcy for organizations in financial distress.” In June of 2015, the Mastership donated the $1 million reserve fund back to the hospital.

John has successfully represented receivership estates facing a variety of complex issues including: tax, insurance claims, environmental regulations and collections of accounts receivables. In one year alone, John devised and implemented marketing strategies for the sale of over $7 million in receivership real estate and assets.See John's full bio here.
