John A. Dorsey jdorsey@frlawri.com

John serves as counsel to court-appointed receivers in the Rhode Island Superior Court. He has managed properties and businesses during the receivership process as well as successfully marketed and negotiated sales of real estate and assets for insolvent businesses. In 2011 alone, John has devised and implemented marketing strategies for the sale of over $7 million in receivership real estate and assets.

In addition, John has successfully represented receivership estates facing a variety of issues including tax, insurance claims, environmental regulations and collections of accounts receivables. He has also represented receivership estates before various city and town bodies regarding permitting and licensing issues.

He was a member of the board for the 2009-2010 Moot Court Appellate Advocacy Program and the 2009-2010 Trial Team for Roger Williams Law School.
